Position Description:

Software Engineer supporting software architecture development, requirements analysis, design, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and unit and test integration (with both new and legacy systems).
 
Working on software-intensive projects and programs for Government or Industry customers. 
Web Services implementation.  Programming using Top-Down, Event-Driven, and object-oriented paradigms.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Integrate open source code components and capabilities to adhere to security and agency requirements.
  • Identify and resolve existing bugs/shortcomings in code base.
  • Provide tier3 support for the operations team.
  • Troubleshooting performance problems on production systems.
  • Implement, review, and package code base to deliver a cohesive product along with supporting documentation.
  • Knowledge of the CentOS/RedHat Linux operating systems (versions 6 and 7) to include the configuration of detached network storage, LDAP management and configuration, network interface configuration, firewall and syslog configurations. 
  • Technical understanding and communication skills to provide customer integration support. 
  • Experience implementing and working with Agile development frameworks (i.e., Epic, features, user stories, etc.)
 Required Skills:
  • Experience with at least one compiled language (c, c++, etc.) 
  • Experience with Ruby Experience with Bash 
  • Motivated and a self starter
 Desired Skills: 

Fluent in the PUPPET configuration management tool and the open source SIMP software suite.
Qualifications:
  • Required: BA/BS Degree in a technical discipline related to the experience requirements as stated herein (such as: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems). Substitute: Three (3) additional years of minimum experience in a technical role, working on software-intensive projects and programs for Government or Industry customers.
 Desired: Advanced Degree in a Related Technical Field, i.e., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc. 
  • Required: Eight (8) years experience as a Software Engineer supporting software architecture development, requirements analysis, design, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and unit and test integration (with both new and legacy systems).
  •  Required: Minimum ten (10) years experience in a technical role, working on software-intensive projects and programs for Government or Industry customers. 
  • Required: Five (5) years experience in applicable programming language, such as the following: JAVA; C++ or C; COBRA; J2EE; Perl; JavaScript; UNIX scripting languages; XML; HTML; workflow tools such as JBoss or Weblogic; DOM; AJAX; Apache; Spring, near-real-time processing, collection systems, network protocols and standards, GUI development, or mission management systems
  •  Required: Minimum three (3) years direct experience with an intelligence community or signals intelligence activity. 
  • Required: Experience in Web Services implementation
  •  Required: Skilled in programming using Top-Down, Event-Driven, and object-oriented paradigms. 
  • Required: Experience providing subject matter expertise for software development and engineering, and mentoring fellow Software Engineers.
 
  • Desired: Experience in Agile development methodology (such as NSA Spin development).
